Think of your life as a tree. Your job represents a branch but there are many more to choose. Start with where you are, see how AI is changing each job, and take practical next steps.
Seven branches. Six are work. One is the rest of life.
1Say where you are now.
2See your branches. Real jobs, real pay, what AI changes.
I am a signpost, not a mind. I match your words against the tree and take you to the right place. Nothing you type is sent, stored or seen by anyone, and I am not AI.
Paste your CV, or just a few lines about what you do. Nothing you paste is sent, stored or seen by anyone. It is matched against the tree right here on your own device, and it is gone the moment you clear it.
Green work is not one branch of the tree. It is new growth right across it. These jobs help the UK cut carbon, restore nature and waste less. Every one has its steps in this app.
Plenty of other jobs can be done greener too. Whatever branch you grow along, the green habits travel with you.
Career and Beyond is a free app from QuantumColleagues, a Community Interest Company. We sell AI services to businesses, and that revenue pays for free training and free tools like this one. Nobody pays to be listed here and nothing here is an advert.
Nothing personal is captured
No accounts, no email, no cookies. Everything you tick or save stays in your browser on your own device. We count visits anonymously with GoatCounter, an open source counter: no cookies, nothing personal, just how many people came and which screens they saw. We could not see it even if we wanted to. From the My Tree screen you can save your tree to a small file and load it on another device. The file stays in your hands and never touches a server.
Where the pay figures come from
Pay figures are official UK medians from the ONS Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (2022 estimates), served by the government funded LMI for All service and matched to the closest official job group, which is named on each bar. Checked July 2026. They are a guide, not a promise: pay varies by place, hours and experience.
How we judge what AI changes
Our notes on how AI is changing each job are editorial, written in plain sight. They rest on published research into which everyday tasks AI now drafts, summarises and schedules, including the O*NET task database and the Anthropic Economic Index, and on our own daily work building AI systems for businesses. Where we get one wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
The tree today
Thirteen starting points. Six work branches holding 26 ways to work and 78 real jobs, each with its own steps, honest time and cost notes, and what AI does next to it. Seven branches of life beyond work with 23 ways in. 681 steps in all. Counted, not rounded. A green leaf marks the jobs that help the shift to net zero and nature recovery.
The organisations we point to
We signpost organisations because they are good at what they do. They have not endorsed us, we are not affiliated with them, and no money changes hands in either direction.
